CHEMICALS
Polyurethane and silicon compounds are used in wide variety of applications in the processes of sealing, bonding and potting/encapsulation. Thermal resistance, type of substrate, operating pressures, weathering, radiation and chemical resistance, dielectric properties, environmental compatibility, water-repellent surface and low moisture uptake are some of the important factors to consider when selecting the type of sealant and adhesive. Customised and wide varieties of products are available to suit specific process requirements. Polyurethane and Silicon compounds for in-situ applications are typically supplied as a one-component or a two-component-system. In the case of two-component polyurethane and silicon systems, components are delivered in two separate packages and typically one is called A component and the second one is called B component.

Contaminants such as oil, grease, drawing and releasing agents, plasticizers, etc. must be removed with suitable cleaning agents before dispensing process. In some applications, in order to improve adhesion properties of the substrate, it may be necessary or advisable to treat the surface before the adhesive/sealant is dispensed. There is a wide range of surface treatment methods available for mechanical, chemical and physical treatments such as primer application, surface roughening, flame treatment, plasma treatment etc. If a surface treatment is necessary in an application, we combine our dispensing solution with the suitable equipment to facilitate the required surface treatment function.

Foam Gasket Materials for Sealing and Gasketing Applications

Thixotropic Foam Gaskets (FIPFG: Formed-In-Place-Foam-Gasket): High-thixotropic gasket system is suitable for three dimensional surfaces. With its thixotropic properties, it is ideal for workparts with level and inclined surfaces.

Liquid Foam Gaskets (FIPFG: Formed-In-Place-Foam-Gasket): Liquid foam gasket systemis produced in a range of flow properties and self-levelling to fill gaps and grooves.
Compact Gaskets (FIPG: Formed-In-Place-Gasket): Compact gaskets are dispensed in place to produce unfoamed gaskets.

Adhesives for Bonding/Gluing Applications

Adhesive bonding is an alternative technique in manufacturing processes to reduce or eliminate the requirement for conventional joining methods such as welding, bolting and riveting. A layer of adhesive bonding compound is applied to connect substrates of different parts. It simplifies manufacturing operations, reduces cost and increases safety and efficiency.

Encapsulants for Potting/Encapsulation Applications

Electronic and electrical components partially orcompletely covered in potting/encapsulation processes with one or two component resins such as epoxy, silicone or polyurethane for protection against moisture, dirt, oil or chemicals in the environment,  shock and vibration. Potting/encapsulation is performed at atmospheric pressure or under vacuum pressure for void-free production.

In potting process, electronic and electrical components are located in a plastic or a metal enclosure and the resin material is poured over it. Capacitors, transformers, PCB’s, cable joints, electronic filters, LED’s, power supplies, sensors, batteries, automotive electronic devices are some of the potting application examples.

In encapsulation process, electronic and electrical devices are located in a mold and the resin material poured over it. After releasing from the mould, a resilient cast is created. PCB’s, Cast Transformers CT and VT, capacitors, connectors, LED’s are some of the encapsulation application examples.
